Dita Eyewear – Featherlite Series – Avocet, Osprey, Heron, Sunbeam

Coming just off the heels of their optical releases, Dita has just recently presented the newest sunglass frames, known collectively as the Featherlite Series.  Any time there are new Dita sunglasses we get excited here, and these frames of course did not let us down.  The new styles:

Dita Osprey

Dita Avocet

The Avocet and Osprey are similar styles in look, but different in shape.  The Osprey is the larger of the pair, having taller and wider lenses.  The square aviator style looks excellent with the gradient lenses.  Both of these styles are great for guys.

Dita Heron

Dita Sunbeam

The Dita Heron and Sunbeam make great female styles.  They evoke feelings of class, style and sophistication.  The interestingly shaped bridge connects two gradient lenses.  I love how the Sunbeam lenses are cut with sharp angles at the top but have a smooth round finish along the bottom.

These styles are heavy on the lenses and light on the frames.  I love the subtlety of the wire frames and smoky lenses.  Each frame has a taste of its own but they all have the Dita flare.  All frames are made from titanium and use two tone metal plating.  The price of each pair in the Featherlite series is $375.

Louis Vuitton Sunglasses 2009 – Women’s Acetate

I am not particularly impressed with Louis Vuitton sunglasses in general, but from time to time they have a good pair.  Today we will look at three pairs that stick out from the rest in the available set.  What we are looking at are the women’s styles for 2009 that are made from acetate.  We’ll look at the metal styles another day.

Louis Vuitton Sunglasses Obsession Carre LV Landscape

The obsession comes in many different shapes, and this is the Carre shape.  It is the full-sized frame of the three styles and has an eye-catching tortoise shell print.  The price is $480.00.

Louis Vuitton Sunglasses Gina

Turquoise and Honey colors are both available for Gina, but I prefer the turquoise.  This style is huge and has a real vintage feel to them.  My favourite aspect of this pair is how the temples connect at the bottom of the frames, whereas most sunglasses connect in the middle.  The painting of the frame is quite nice, the style in general is pretty loud.  This style has been seen on Rihanna, among other celebrities.  The price is $530.00

Louis Vuitton Sunglasses - Mahina Camel

The Mahina is a much softer design than the above two frames.  It has a simple one-piece lens and the LV flower in the center of the bridge.  The price is $480.00

One thing that is immediate is that these are not cheap sunglasses.  You are no doubt paying for the brand here.  As sunglasses on their own, they are not bad, and occasionally a pair will be really interesting, like the Graffiti which we showed earlier as spotted on Kate Price.  If you are looking for subtle luxury, then Louis Vuitton sunglasses are a good choice.

Brad Pitt Sunglasses – Cazal 735 – Celebrity Sighting

Brad Pitt was recently spotted looking as sharp as always sporting a vintage pair of sunglasses from Cazal eyewear, model number 735.

Brad Pitt Sunglasses - Always sharp

I love the sharp edges

Brad Pitt’s sunglasses collection must be massive, because every time I see a picture of him it’s with a new pair.  This look he’s got here is really nice.  Cazal design has always been centered on polygon shapes, sharp edges and nice metal finishes.  Even their recent line has this kind of a feel to it.  The vintage items are so hot that it will be tough to find this exact model.

Celebrity Sighting – Sienna Miller Sunglasses – Tom Ford Cary 182

I spotted Sienna Miller in this classically shaped style by Tom Ford called Cary.  This multi-talented star is of course known for her fashion choices and designs, and is copied everywhere she goes.  The styles’ name is an obvious reference to Cary Grant and the 50’s classic esteemed look, however the shape is not told old as to look dated.

I guess it works

Tom Ford Cary Sunglasses 182

The Tom Ford “T’s” stick out quite nicely and this style really fits Sienna Miller.  Sunglasses by Tom Ford are all quite distinctive and eye catching and truly of high quality.   The price is about $250.
