Mike Posner - Please Don't Go Sunglasses

Mike Posner is all over the charts again with this sweet little ditty called "Please Don't Go".  He's a real softy and might just got to the top again with this one.


In a few scenes he's driving around in a very carefree way with a nice blonde who is the only one bothered by the extreme sunshine.  She wears sunglasses.  Her hair is blowing around.  They look like they are in California.  Maybe on the same road that Katy Perry was for "Teenage Dream".  Very similar videos.

Far East Movement - Like a G6 Sunglasses

As contrived as this track is, the beat is a lot of fun.  I can't figure out whether the beat or the wonderfully sweet Asian ladies are what it getting this song all the play it is .  It's not the sunglasses.

I've read around online that these sunglasses are made by Optic Remix.  I couldn't find any info on their website but this post is on their Twitter...

... so it's probably true.  As you can see in the Tweet these are only $10.

I like to think of myself as "Asian-conscious" but can anyone tell me what a G6 is?

Taio Cruz Sunglasses in Dynamite Video

Taio Cruz is once again at the top of the charts with the release of "Dynamite".  The song follows up his highly successful "Break Your Heart".  He's already a music star and might become known in the fashion world as well.  His label Rokstarr sells clothes, sunglasses and other accessories and they are all getting exposure in his videos.

Problem is, I can't find any evidence of these sunglasses on the Rokstarr site, or anywhere. The sunglasses from the "Break Your Heart" video are on the site, but these are not.  I can't imagine that he would wear something that is not his own, so maybe they are an upcoming pair?  I've seen him wearing them also at the T4 on the Beach event in the UK.  If I'm wrong on this, please let me know in the comments.

Katy Perry's domination on the pop world continues with the poetic "Teenage Dream".  It's a follow up California Gurls and has a lot of the same good stuff, just without the D O Double G.  Is this going to replace California Gurls as the hit of the summer?  Is that even possible?

DJ Khaled Sunglasses in Fed Up video

A reader recently asked me what sunglasses were featured in the video for Fed Up by DJ Khaled.  I know the sunglasses DJ Khaled are wearing, but not sure about Usher's.  DJ Khaled is wearing a nice looking pair for guys and follows the trend in the last few years of having translucent frames.  The track is loaded with stars as it also features Drake and Young Jeezy.  It was popular in January and was part of the Victory album which came out in March.

DJ Khaled's sunglasses in the video are Louis Vuitton Apparence transparent sunglasses.  They have the logo written into the temples and the logo imprinted in gold on the top of the frame.

Does anyone know what Usher's sunglasses are?  If so, please leave a comment below!

Snoop Dogg Sunglasses in California Gurls Video

After a huge build up the video for Katy Perry's California Gurls is out.  It looks like a sexed-up Willy Wonka's factory with Snoop Dogg as the king.  Highlights are Katy Perry taking her kit off half way through and a huge ginger bread man finding pleasure in being eaten.  It looks like a fun place.

I have had a few questions about Snoop Dogg's sunglasses in the video but I have not found out what they are yet.  He has been wearing a lot of Serious Pimp sunglasses but I'm sure these are not from them.  They might have been made just for the video like most of the clothes and outfits.  If you have a tip, please leave it in the comments.  Thanks!

Lady Gaga Sunglasses in Alejandro Video

With the newest Lady Gaga video being released, I was anticipating another pair designed by her Haus of Gaga (her designer friends who make accessories for her) and they delivered.    There are two different pairs in the video and the first one we will look at is definitely the Haus of Gaga pair.  They've given us razor blade sunglasses, sunglasses made of burning cigarettes and flashing lights.  And now for something completely different.

The pair is actually part of a headpiece the sits on top of her head (which you can see later in the video).  It seems as there are even lenses inside of them.  The arms which connect all of the pieces together are lit up and the "lenses" can be pulled back which Gaga does a few times in the video.  I'm still trying to figure out what significance they have to the meaning of the video, if any.

I need a better picture of these right now

The second pair is of yet unknown.  I have been scouring the tubes looking for it but I've had no luck.  If anyone has any idea, please leave a comment below.

Tyga Sunglasses in G-Shit Video

Tyga has released yet another generic and low-budget video. This is one of those videos where it is just a bunch of people partying around a pool. However, this time it looks like they use low-grade home video cameras to shoot it.  This kind of video got old in 1995.  It looks like things are bottoming out for Chris Brown.  The sunglasses, however, are looking nice.

Lil' Wayne Sunglasses in Knockout Video

Despite being incarcerated, Lil' Wayne has managed to released a series of singles and videos.  The latest video is for the song "Knockout", from the critically panned album Rebirth.  The video features Nicki Minaj as Wayne's "love" interest.  The song, and the album, are a depart from the usual Lil' Wayne hip-hop.  I appreciate him trying something new, but this one misses the mark huge.  I think he should stick with Lolipops.

Christina Aguilera Sunglasses in Not Myself Tonight Video

Christina Aguilera is back and this time her angle is sexpot, once again. It seems to be working less and less, but lots of people are talking about the video so maybe I'm wrong. Her people decided it was going to take a video this over the top to get back onto the charts. Of course all the references to Lady Gaga have been made and it really seems like she is going for controversial with her album name Bi-On-Ic. It's just way too obvious.

Rihanna – Rude Boy Sunglasses

Rihanna has removed any sign of subtlety with her latest track “Rude Boy”. The lyrics are sparse, and direct. I like different approach she's taken for this video. It's like an M.I.A video with the dance moves and colors.

Lady Gaga Sunglasses in Telephone Video

In Lady Gaga's new over the top video for her latest single Telephone, there are over 15 different pairs of sunglasses. She changes them as much as she does her outfits. In all of her videos there are a pair made by her and her crew (Haus of Gaga). The burning cigarette sunglasses in Telephone are one of those pairs. You probably will never see them again. They might even top the razor-blade sunglasses from Bad Romance.

Black Eyes Peas Sunglasses in Imma Be Video

I've gotten a few requests about the different sunglasses in the Black Eyed Peas video for “Imma Be”. The video starts of with Will.I.Am wearing sunglasses with flashing red lights, similar to the ones Kanye wore while touring a few years ago, and may be the same pair.

The pair that A.P.I is wearing (also in the first scene) are Badgley Mischka sunglasses and the model is called Steve.

Rihanna Sunglasses in Hard Video

Rihanna wears sunglasses everywhere. On the town, in the club, at the awards and now in the desert. In the new video for her aptly titled song Hard, Rihanna's gold sunglasses shine brightly as she plays the part of a hot sergeant. The video has soldiers, explosions and more phallic references than I can count.

Rihanna's sunglasses in the video are by Bagdley Mishka and are called Perry. They've been popular with a few celebrities, including Lindsay Lohan. The bright mirrored gold lenses are pretty rare, with only Super sunglasses having something similar. It's a very bold look, especially in an aviator.

Lady Gaga Sunglasses in Bad Romance Video – Carrera Champion Sunglasses

Lada Gaga appears in her new video for Bad Romance in so many different pairs of sunglasses that it's tough to keep up. In the opening scene she is wearing a pair made out of razor blades, literally. She brings in lot of props for each video that are one-of-a-kind.

Chris Brown Sunglasses – I Can Transform Ya Video

Chris Brown is back at punishing the world with with his pop in his comeback track, the poorly titled “I Can Transform Ya”. I don't know what they were thinking with this name, seriously. It's almost humorous in a dark way.

He wears a few different styles in the video, but the one that most people are talking about are the white sunglasses, which are the Dior Homme Blow sunglasses, featured sometime ago on this blog. The style is obviously not for everyone, but works for him in this video. It's basically the best thing happening in the video. The song in incredibly bad and certainly not enough to bring back his popularity. Also, please, the reference to the Transformers? Are his fans really that young? Lil' Wayne can't even save him in this, despite referring to a disco-stick as a Voltron.
