Stella McCartney Signs Deal with Luxottica

Stella McCartney signed a five year deal last week with the Luxottica Group to design sunglasses for the upcoming season.
The first pairs will be available in 2009, and it is not clear if she will make her own line of eyewear, or design something for an existing Luxottica brand. Luxottica is the worlds largest group of fashion eyewear brands, owning many popular names such as D&G, Bvlgari, Vogue, Chanel and even Oakley as of 2007.
I guess it is expected that Stella will take her classical chic look and transfer into some shades and we will probably see something nice come out of this. Let’s just hope she stays away from Oakley, oh and the music industry.

cool idea for a blog! I love it. I admit, I only buy cheap sunglasses because I'm always breaking or losing mine. Would be nice to have a really good pair someday.
I'll check back from time to time to see what's the latest in sunglasses fashion/news.

I sat on my sunnies today, which was bad lol! Luckily they didn't break - I love my oversized sunnies. Great blog though, really informative!
