Lady Gaga x Polaroid Sunglasses Colab - Technology and Fashion Freakout

So Lady Gaga was all over the airwaves yesterday being the surprise guest of Polaroid at CES in Las Vegas.  The Consumer Electronics Show often sees its share of celebrities, but this was unexpected.  Thankfully the focus was not on her meat dress this time.  The awkward product presentation ended up leading to the release of the Polarez GL20's.

Lady Gaga Polaroid Sunglasses - Polarez GL20

These sunglasses use an OLED display to project anything you would like (i.e. a video or pictures from an SD card) onto a small display in front of your eyes.  Not safe for walking downtown, but maybe fun if you are on a flight

Mykita Sunglasses x Uslu Airlines Nail Polish

In one of the most interesting collaborations I've seen in awhile, Mykita has mixed with Uslu luxury cosmetics to make an interesting package. Your fantastic looking Mykita glasses now come with a bottle of matching-color nail polish.

Mykita vs Uslu Airlines Nail Polish

So if you've ever needed to match something in your wardrobe, now you can do it with your sunglasses and nails. An original idea.  Too bad I don't wear nail polish (yet).

TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloIst and Oliver Peoples Optical

In the first collaboration we present here for 2011, Oliver Peoples is working together with designer Takahiro Miyashita for his "The Sololst" work.  They are exquisite.

Takahiro Miyashita Eyeglasses - Oliver Peoples

The eyewear is made with acetate and "aged metal" and instantly works with the rest of his collection for Spring/Summer 2011.  The detailing in the metal and the shapes make this line look instantly vintage and rustic.  If you can get even ahold of these, they'll be available in March 2011.

Tron Legacy Sunglasses - Oakley and Disney in 3D

Tron is coming out soon and it's no surprise that the buzz is insane.  I've seen the first film and this one should be good for some nostalgia.  Not sure if it is going to be a good film.  I'm a little worried it's going to be too "Disney".

Oakley has collaborated with Disney for two pairs of Tron Sunglasses.  I do not yet know if they are in the film, but the idea is to wear the Oakley Limited Edition Tron 3D Gascan when you watch the film.  What a crazy idea.

The price for the 3D Gascan is $150.00 and can be found on the Oakley site.

Are you excited to see this movie?  Have you seen it already?  How was it?  Are you nerdy enough to buy theses sunglasses and wear them at the film?

MIHARAYASUHIRO x Husam el Odeh Cut Away Sunglasses

The Japanese domination of creative eyewear seems to continue.  Every time you think the sunglasses scene is getting boring you see something.  This is a nice pair I spotted online that is really creative but still wearable.  It's from Miharayasuhiro and Huas el Odeh, in their first collaboration.  The style would look good if it was finished, but is something more unique at only 90% finished.

Would you wear this???
Why not?

Madonna Sunglasses - MDG

Madonna released her sunglasses line with Dolce and Gabbanna months ago now, but we are seeing some new pictures and promo. To be honest, the best thing about MDG sunglasses is the promo material. The photos and website are great, however the sunglasses are uninspiring. Most are just basic shapes.

MDG Sunglasses

We are hoping the next round of sunglasses from MDG are better, but Dolce and Gabbana don't really focus on sunglasses, so this is what we get.

Cutler & Gross and Comme des Garcons Homme Plus Sunglasses

One of my favorite brands now, Cutler & Gross, have collaborated with the Japanese brand Comme des Garcons to product a new style.

Cutler and Gross Comme des Garcons Sunglasses

It's a classes Persol shaped frame that has a 50's table cloth checkered pattern to it. Although it wouldn't work for me, this could be nice on the right face. It definitely sticks out.

Mykita and Romain Kremer Sunglasses Experience

Mykita goes deep into the realm of creative eyewear by collaborating with Romain Kremer, the French designer known for very original and difficult-to-find-a-place-to-wear men's fashion. It is like nothing I've ever seen before.

Mykita x Romain Kremer Sunglasses - Looks best on the bald

Providing little actual UV blockage, this pair is for the extremely brave. It's been spotted on Lady Gaga and not on myself. I think it is a great pair in that it doubles as a helmet.

Chocolate Skateboards and Super Sunglasses Collaborate

Today we've got yet another collaboration with Super Sunglasses. This time it is the skateboarding brand Chocolate. They have got themselves an exclusive colorway and there will be 334 of them made. As usual, the lenses are by Carl Zeiss.

Dita and Clot FDTD Sunglasses

Dita continues with their ongoing collaborations. This time they've collaborated with CLOT, a Hong Kong based brand which has street clothing, toys and then the random collaborations.

Apparently they did a redo of Dita's Midnight Special last year in a different color, but this year they've designed their own frame. It's called the FDTD and here is the first look.

It will be soon, but sadly only from Juice in Hong Kong. With a limited run, it will be tough to get your hands on this.

NEIGHBORHOOD x Dita Batmobile Sunglasses

The latest incarnation of the Dita and Neighborhood relationship has resulted in the Batmobile sunglasses. Similar to their other collaborations, it's a a Wayfarer shape.

Neighborhood x Dita Batmobile Sunglasses

It's comes in a standard black shape, as well as a black and white mix, which I think is fantastic. Available at Dita and Neighborhood locations. The cost will be about $315.

Barneys New York and Super Sunglasses Collaboration

Barneys New York and Super Sunglasses have got together to make an exclusive model for the already exclusive shop and it of course runs in the tradition of many Super Sunglasses models, being based on the Wayfarer.

Super Sunglasses and Barneys New York

The accents on the insides of the ends of the temples match the color of the Carl Zeiss lenses (all Super Sunglasses have Carl Zeiss lenses) and the pattern on the frame is very cool.  Only 50 pairs of these will be made so you had better get there soon if you want a pair.  If you don’t want anyone on the street having the same pair as you, this is a pair to get.

Super Sunglasses will be around for a long time if the Wayfarer popularity holds out and it is what they stick with.  Look for more styles by them through the search feature on the blog.

Super Sunglasses continues its trend of color Wayfarer shades in collaboration with the brand Vanguard.

Streetwear at its coolest

The Italian street brand Vanguard can be found all around the world and is really a good match for Super.  Just like all Super sunglasses, they have Carl Zeiss lenses.

They are only making 50 pairs of these for the whole world, so you had better get to their website if you want a pair.  The retail price is €130.
