Katy Perry Sunglasses in Teenage Dream Video

Katy Perry's domination on the pop world continues with the poetic "Teenage Dream".  It's a follow up California Gurls and has a lot of the same good stuff, just without the D O Double G.  Is this going to replace California Gurls as the hit of the summer?  Is that even possible?

Katy Perry Sunglasses in Teenage Dream Video

Katy is wearing Ray-Ban Wayfarers 2140 throughout the whole video.  They work on just about everyone and of course very well on her.  They just add to the magic of this track.

Hello Enisty,

Hers are most likely the classic 901. It's a black frame with "crystal green" lenses. They are just slightly green.

I love her glasses. Do you think they are 50mm or 54mm? Or does that not make much of a difference?

That number is for the lens width. There's no way of knowing if hers are 50mm or 54mm. The 54mm will be 6mm wider total across your face, which is not even 1cm, so it won't make much of a difference. I personally would get the 54mm. I like bigger lenses.

Are they the original or new 901 style?

Hey there,

http://www.ray-ban.com/australia/products/sun/RB2140

Are they colour code 901 or 901/58?
(Does polarized mean they reflect off the sun like hers do in the vid?)

And what do people mean by lens width?

They are probably not the 901/58, which again are just wider. I would go with the regular size for normal shaped faces and 54mm or 58mm for wider faces.

Polarized means they will reflect polarized light, which is light that has bounced off of water or snow (search the blog for polarized).

Lens width is the width across one single lens on the sunglasses.

Hope that helps

Hello,

I considered that before but it's tough to know from the picture. Looking at it again, you may be right. The lens does appear to be more flat at the bottom. It may well be RB 2151. Thanks for your keen eye.

what is the difference between polarized or not?

does it make a difference when it hits the sun?

like if its not polarized, does that mean it won't reflect the sun (and have that shiny effect) like in the picture above? or are hers polarized?

i'm so confused!

Polarized means they cut out polarized light.

Polarized light is when light bounces off shiny surfaces like snow, water or glass. Our eyes don't like it and experiences it as glare.

It is better to have polarized lenses if possible.

Honestly there is no way of knowing from the picture.

There is a polarized and non-polarized black pair available, so it could be either.

Wish I could tell you exactly.
