Ralph Vaessen Sunglasses (Joost, Willemijn, Lotte, Katrina)

Recently I’ve come across one of the most beautiful sets of sunglasses I’ve seen in a long time, or perhaps ever. It’s a new brand and I’m happy too present them there. The brand is called Ralph Vaessen, as he is their head designer.

If you’ve never seen buffalo horn sunglasses before, then feast your eyes. Of course most sunglasses are made of metal and plastic, so buffalo horn sunglasses are at a completely different level. The detail in the frames is exceptional. The material gives them a milky stained appearance.

Joost

The Joost is an aviator shape and is by far my favourite. The separation of the buffalo horn at the bridge is excellent, as the metallic frame really brings out the colors.

Lotte

Willemijn

The Willemijn is an excellent example of cat eye sunglasses. The angles on this pair are extreme. No weak can wear this frame. It’s not an all black frame either. Click on the picture to enlarge and see the subtleties in the color variation. This is all from the buffalo horn.

Katarina

Ralph Vaessen has decided to go with some classic shapes for this line and I can’t wait for the next one. Ralph Vaessen sunglasses will not come cheap. This of course is based on the use of buffalo horn and the fact that every pair is hand-made. The prices range from €1100 - €1800.

If you need more information, check out their website.

Thanks for stopping by Gill.

Nice to have someone from the industry come by. Let me know if you find anything that should be up here - rare or popular.
