Be the Follower You Are - RayBan Wayfarer Sunglasses

From Corey Hart in the 80’s, to Mary-Kate Olsen today, and sadly including the pasty-white guy you saw trying to dance to Soulja Boy at the bar last week, everyone seems to be loving Ray Ban Wayfarers again this year.

The Wayfarers are perhaps the most classic and timeless sunglass style to be found, with aviators being a very close second. The list of people that have made this style cool to wear is a bizarre and long one, and perhaps the only list that all of these people would be found on together (Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Tom Cruise, Corey Hart, Dan Ackroyd!). Perhaps the first star to make them big were Audrey Hepburn in the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s, in what is maybe the classiest photo I’ve ever seen.

What’s so great about this style is that it looks good on most people, men or women, and is very stylish. It can morph from upper class to street nerd by just changing faces. After RayBan’s patent on the model expired, a plethora of companies have copied it, and even the high-end fashion brands have their own version of it. If you are thinking of getting a fashionable pair of shades at a decent price, you really cannot go wrong with Wayfarers. This year the most popular colors I’ve seen are white and turquoise. So stop thinking about it and just get on the bandwagon.

i have a pair from years ago but have not been wearing them for quite a while. Had them made with degrees for days when I'm not wearing contact lenses.
BTW, I'm trying to figure out where to wear the pink shutter shades too. Let me know if you do get a pair. ahhaa

This does seem to be true, and the bandwagon idea is what originally turned me off to them, but I like that they are classics, so I'll probably get them soon. Thanks for the comment on my predicament!

I got the original Ray Bans after I found out the Killers singer Brandon Flowers has them. I didn't even know they were so popular! They're so wonderful, I think we could end every political problem in the world with them. Kim Jong Il causing problems again? Send him some Ray Bans, people!
